Joni and Friends retreat

Wes and his mom Judy will attend the yearly Joni and Friends retreat for a weekend of fellowship with Jesus and each other in southern California. Joni Eareckson-Tada has been living with quadriplegica for almost 60 years, she was injured when she was 17 in a diving accident. Joni is an evangelical Christian author, radio host, artist, and founded Joni and Friends in 1979, an organization "accelerating Christian ministry in the disability community" throughout the world (Wheels for the World, part of her ministry, just delivered the 250,000th wheelchair to a child in Thailand this past year). Their ministry’s theme verse this year is Psalm 145:18 “The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth”.
